Dr.Donda West, Businesswoman and Mother of Kanye, Is Dead

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11, 2007 - Kanye West's mother has died.
A spokesman for West says the rapper's mother died Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Dr Donda West served as chief executive of West Brands LLC, the parent company of her son's business enterprises, according to a biography on the Web site of the Kanye West Foundation, which she chaired.

She was the former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department and recently published the book "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star."

A cause of death has not been released.

i heard it was from a complication with surgery, she was only like 58 or something and writting a book.

I heard last night from Larry King Live that she died from a complication with surgery for breast enlargement? Sorry if I heard wrong...

Yea I was listening to Flow yesterday morning and they said she died due to complications caused by cosmetic surgery.
Wow, I wonder how Kanye is doing right now...That is such a young age for someone to die

Man that's sad. Yeezy was obviously really close to his mom, with already one amazing track dedicated to his mom ("Hey Mama"), you know he's going to vent out his emotions in many more songs to come (I guess the only positive to come out of this is that he is an amazing musician and so he can use his music as a form of therapy to share his pain with everyone else).

I think he is also suing the doctor who performed the surgery.

I think this is a really tragic event and I can't imagine what I'd do if I lose anyone close, but events like this really make you think what is wrong with the society. I mean, it's what is inside of us that counts, not what is added on~!

It was Breast Reduction and a Tummy Tuck.
