K just flipped over to my board in my coment. And am getting higher then normal load temps with the oc i had on the previous board with temps hittin 45c now. Oddly enought the bsod's don't occure in games when I'm multitasking, BUT if I attempt to use windows movie maker or convertxtodvd bam it occures.
The win7 action center indicates that cpu, motherboard, ram or powersupply's causing the bsod. I've thought maybe the ps possibly as its hitting 3 years old .... Would a dying powersupply cause a total system restart with no bluescreen or cpu temprature spikes ?? Any thoughts ?? thanks here is the sensor logs from the latest version of everest: Field Value Sensor Properties Sensor Type ITE IT8720F (ISA 228h) GPU Sensor Type Diode, Volterra VT1165 (ATI-Diode, 70h) Motherboard Name Gigabyte MA770 / MA790FX / MA790GP / MA790X Series Chassis Intrusion Detected Yes Temperatures Motherboard 36 °C (97 °F) CPU 38 °C (100 °F) CPU #1 / Core #1 37 °C (99 °F) CPU #1 / Core #2 37 °C (99 °F) CPU #1 / Core #3 37 °C (99 °F) CPU #1 / Core #4 37 °C (99 °F) GPU Diode (DispIO) 54 °C (129 °F) GPU Diode (MemIO) 60 °C (140 °F) GPU Diode (Shader) 53 °C (127 °F) GPU VRM 50 °C (122 °F) Seagate ST3750330AS 26 °C (79 °F) Seagate ST3500320AS 41 °C (106 °F) Cooling Fans CPU 6308 RPM Power Supply 1815 RPM GPU 1850 RPM Voltage Values CPU Core 1.42 V +3.3 V 3.26 V +12 V 12.19 V VBAT Battery 3.20 V DIMM 2.14 V GPU VRM 1.26 V Current Values GPU VRM 28.45 A

Your title mentions BSOD, yet you're asking if PSU problems can cause spontaneous reboots with no BSOD. In any case, the answer is yes, the PSU is a potential cause for the problem.
If you have the luxury of trying another PSU first, then that would be great. Also make sure to check that your PSU supplies enough power for your setup. CPU and GPU are not the only components that cause restarts and BSODs if overheated. Touch your chipset heatsinks since they're almost never actively cooled. |
