anyone know why there is no SUBWOOFER connection on this receiver? it says it is 6.1, I know nothing about this stuff, but I dont see a subwoofer plug like I do on other receivers?
where do I plug in the subwoofer? http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Receivers/Ba...HTRN5060_r.jsp the receiver comes with a 5.1 speaker system, so I imagine that I would use the Front R and L for the first two speakers, the 'Surround' Right and left for the other two, centre obviously goes in centre, but where does the subwoofer go? I thought the 'surround back' would be for the 6.1 if you were using it? |

you are right, I see that now, do all subwoofers have a connection like that? I didnt realize that..... I thought it was just wires like other speakers, in fact I have seen other receivers with simple wire connections? I bought this kit today, http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...gon=&langid=EN does the subwoofer plug right into it? |

Some receivers, still have/use the speaker wire. Alot now use a separate Subwoofer cable like say something from this page http://www.bestbuy.ca/search/searchr...=EN&search=KWS
As for, if you sub has that input (LFE). I'm not sure. Looks like you got a pretty good deal. Edit: You'll probably have to buy one of those sub cables it probably isn't included. After looking at infinity's site that particular package isn't shown, just one without the sub. So not really sure what sub is included. After some digging the I found a sub with 100watts (your system specs from BB seem to say the sub is a 100watter) well the PS-8 is a 100 watter, and the manual for it seems to show connections for speaker wire, the RCA red/whites as well as the (LFE) Sub cable connection. Most home theatre subs are powered. Enjoy your set.

You link is bad so I don't know what the ass end of the system looks like.
However, a number of amps will use a simple RCA out to an actively powered sub (sub has an amp built in) this may be the case (I'd know if I could see)

Get your sub cables from monoprice, basically the sub cable is usually just an rca cable, don't believe that crap monster stuff that bestbuy pushes. http://www.monoprice.com/products/se...woofer&x=0&y=0
