Default Question about the Benq 19" LCD on sale at BestBuy.

When looking online I see two possible versions:
FP937S
T904

When looking at the prices the one that matches the Boxing Day sale price is the T904 version but the one that matches the response time of 12ms as listed in the flyer is the FP937S.

The Futureshop flyer has a similar one listed at $429.99 with a 16ms response time but I can't even find that one online. There's a 12ms and 25ms listing though. lol

Anyone know which one it is for sure? Anyone have anything negative or positive to say about these monitors?

TIA

BB is going FP937S for sure (base on what Hellfire saw on his flyer)
FS (IMO) is going FP931, the spec. is - 16 ms, 1280X1024, 450:1, Analog/DVI

The FP937s is the only BenQ 19" LCD monitor rated at 12ms, so I'm guessing that's the one Best Buy will be selling for $469.99 on Boxing Day.

The FP937s's specs looks good but is that price considered a hot deal these days? If you find something better priced with the same kind of specs could you please post it. Thanks

Default FS 16ms Monitor

The FS monitor looks like its a BenQ T-903 (not 931) - look at the fine print.

After a little searching , it looks like an older european model that ended up here , and I can't seem to find any reviews. Too bad there isn't a $50 MIR to go with it as well.

The BB FP937S seems to be a much better deal.

Are there any better 19" LCD deals with 16ms ?

I got the fp937s since I couldn't find a better priced lcd with those specs at that price. In general, I was expecting more discounts on LCDs (a 19" Samsung LCD would have been nice)

So which one is a better deal? The FP937S or the T903?

FP951 got a good Contrast rate and good to have dual. The only thing I don't like is the response time just only 25ms.

BTW, I managed to grap the last one FP937S instore today. I am so freeking happy about it but no time to open it yet. How ironic how much I want this baby but no time even open to set it up

I noticed that the contrast ratio of the FP937S is 500:1. Is this good? Decent? Average? And how much of a difference is there between 500:1 and say for example, 700:1 like I've seen in some of the higher end models? Thanks for your input.

I ordered one of the T903's from FS.

Thinking about cancelling the order now. It's not like I really NEED an LCD. What do you guys think, is this just a warm deal that may look like a bad one in mid Jan?

Definitely waffling.

EDIT: Here's the link
BenQ T903 - FS.ca

What does "Analog with Digital interface" mean???

Unhappy Update of my freaking happy monitor

2 days ago I finally got time to open my FP937S and when I started it up, "BOOM" a dead pixel right at the middle of the screen. I was so upset and bring it back yesterday to BB and hopefully I can get the exchange. However, when I was inside the store and asked CSR for exchange, he said it is not possible to do that because there is none in stock, none in transit, and none on order. In other word it means it will never come back in stock to BB soon. So, I got no choice to refund this beautiful LCD monitor. Now, I just placed the order on NCIX to buy another LCD but it is 17" not 19" and also I need to pay more for expressRMA just in case.

BTW, before I return the Benq 19" to BB, I test it out and the quality on this monitor is awesome. I compare this one to another 16 ms monitor that I feel I see ghosting on it (IMO) and I feel FP937S has no ghosting at all (thanks to 12ms), colour is so good and it is so bright.

I was looking at purchasing this monitor, but I noticed that it uses a 6-bit panel. There is a noticable differnce of image quality between an LCD that use 6-bit panels, and one that uses an 8-bit panels. Generally, 6-bit panels are listed capable of displaying 16.2M colours, while 8-bit LCDs are listed capable of displaying 16.7M coulours. The following is a quote from a monitor review at AnandTech:

Quote:
Like most 16ms LCDs, you will notice that this XP17 comes with a 16.2M color panel. As kind of a dirty hack, LCD panel manufacturers have been opting 6-bit LCD panels over 8-bit LCD panels for high response time applications. 6-bit LCDs are capable of quicker response times due to the smaller amount of circuitry. The 6-bit panels are subjected to some particular method of dithering basically to make the image "appear" like 16.2M colors. Don't be fooled; the color saturation between an 8-bit LCD and a 6-bit one are still night and day for some people. Particularly when the brightness is turned up too low or too high, signals near the extreme lights and darks tend to wash out quickly; an issue that we have talked about before.
