Question Quality Check: OEM compatible epson r200 ink

Has anyone used these inks yet:
http://www.blankdvdmedia.com/epson_r300.php

I am running low...and need to replace mine soon....$45 for a set of 6 free shipping is very cheap considering some places sell the real epson ink for $18-$20 per cartridge.

But I mean..sometimes you get what you pay for...so I am wondering if this is one of those cases...I emailed the people at www.blankmedia.ca since they too carry these for the same prices...and they say it prints the same as the originals..but I take that with a grain of salt...so can anyone provide any feedback here?

Thanks again

Yes but being a wise consumer...I would first ask for testimonials or reviews of anyone using these OEM compatible inks...

$45 isn't something to toss away...but its still cheap compared to $120 for the epson originals...

You sure R300 and R200 use the same ink cartiges ? If they do then get it. All you will need to do is change your printer settings for the new ink and way you go.

...just wanted to revive this post, in hopes someone ELSE might have an opinion, since I too was wondering about the Quality of these inks!?

(I asked about this in another forum...Digital Dolhphin was fielding questions aboout DVD-R media,
and since I saw a link to DD at the blankmedia site!!, I asked if he knew anything, he replied he did not!)

I use no-name brand ink to print out draft pictures and genuine Epson ink to print out finals.

I find the ink color to be identical (at least, to my untrained eyes). But the difference comes in longevity. Non-Epson ink fades (and this is on glossy paper) after about a year (red become orange, blue becomes green/cyan) where as Epson ink doesn't fade as much (in brightly lit room, with indirect sunlight). May be Epson ink uses better pigments? Note that this is not R200 ink but older Epson printer ink.

I'm not satisfied with the logevity of either. So I just print out draft prints with no-name ink (for color checks) and get the final developed @ Costco. Costs a bit more but the pictures are printed on real photo paper which last much longer than printer paper.

I've bought the ink from blankmedia.ca they work alright and is much cheaper. If you were gonna buy real Epson carts you're better off just buying the printer again cause it'll be cheaper. I only use my Epson R200 to print on DVD/CD discs so I can only comment about quality regarding that. So far I haven't had any problems with streakings or anything with the blankmedia ink and the print outs come out just as good (colour is slightly different, but that's expected). Nothing that can't be corrected pre-printing. Regarding longevity and fading, well like I said I use it only to print on discs so they will never really be exposed to direct sunlight, etc. and I do spray my discs with Krylon Krystal Clear to make them waterproof and more resistant.

Yes I was really impressed with the quality of this ink...if anything the prints may be slightly toward the greenish side...but nothing that bothers me too much...

I use this primarily for cd prints and the results are fine..as for photo prints I use epson paper..and the results was more then satisfactory considering the price...

Again, I cannot comment too much on longevity as I have just had the prints for over a month...but they work well if the photos aren't of great importance..if they were..I'd take it to a photo lab..otherwise..it does the trick
