yea i thought about that, but you lose quality

apple -> aac -> cd -> mp3

music gets transcoded 3 times, with 2 losing quality

i don't dl music as often as i did, but why would you want to buy music online? sure britney spears has to downgrade to a dc3 from a dc4 private jet, but i'm sure can deal with the lack of a remote control for the surround sound system.

Or even better, grab some software that re-routes the audio signal from one application to another, and skip the CD burning process altogether.

There will always be transcoding (going from one compression format to another) degradation no matter what you do, but this will keep the signal as clean as possible.

As for allofmp3.com, I love that site. I love the fact that you can choose your encoding method, and that you pay per Mb not per song.

Look closer; actually it does, though through a roundabout route (Xrost cards) . . . oops, just saw your second post. Never mind.
