I had a flyer of Zellers for a PSP at $269 with a bonus ATV game. Walmart was selling it at 278.83 with no game. Since I favor Walmart's return policy so I decided to go price match. When the staff at electronics saw the price difference of nearly $60, she immediately told me that it wouldn't be possible. I insisted that she ask the manager and so she did saying "They are selling it at $60 cheaper than us, it's a huge difference..." and of cos, the manager went her way and said that they could only price match for PSP with no bonus game. She went on to say how Zellers had budget to throw in the extra game while they couldn't because then they haven't calculated with their accounting department.
I think this is all bull crap and all they wanted to say was that we can't afford to earn so little. She sounded like she owned walmart and kept going on and on about how they would loose $60 if they sold to me at that price while talking to the manager. I went to the customer's service and they even said that they can't price match because it was a different package. I insisted that they were just throwing in the extra game and that there are no "ATV bundle" from Sony and they said in that case they will only match the PSP price. I was so disappointed as I went on REmembrance Day and Zellers closed early. It was also the last day of the deal. Does anyone know about the policy on price matching on these offers? |

This is why those of us who do honest price matches get given such a hard time, because of this guy.
You're wanting to price match two different things. One is a PSP that's bundled with a game, the other is just a PSP. That's not the same thing and if you can't see that, than I feel bad for you. This isn't Walmart's problem, it's yours.

You go to walmart (if closer to home) and ask politely for a pricematch. If they don't want, no need to argue for 5 minute, go pick it up at zellers. Why waste your time or theirs? Aren't you planning on playing with the PSP instead of returning is 2 weeks from now??

That's hilarious! You wanted to buy this bundle so desperately from Walmart that you argued until Zellers was closed and you couldn't even get the original bundle there? There was absolutely no reason for Walmart to PM Zellers - you just shot yourself in the foot, methinks.
