Second I am fixing my Brother's Computer. Here is what I got confused.
Here how it started. He said his MB died; he will ship me the computer and I can replaced the MB and save his Data AKA Porn . I said ok no Bigge. I bough the MBfor TIME saving. :hmm: So got him an Asus P4P800-VM MB Upon my diagnostic I found out; his ECS MB is GOOD :w00t:; His retail P4 prescott 3.2 is BAD I crossed check with known Good CPU. Any rate it getting replaced. He have 2 OCZ PC3200 512 a Modules. Running in a Dual Mode. Mean while I installed my spare CPU which is P4 2.6 Gig 800FSB. After installing every thing like OS and Benchmark programs; I have notice some thing real odd 3D mark see FSB as a 200MHZ FSB ![]() Asus WebSite where they compare the MB its says it only supports 533/400 ![]() When you pull MB specification it says it can support 800/533/400. ![]() I though may be 3D mark is goofy so I ran program on my computer. Its says I am running 800 FSB ![]() My Dell have 875Chipset; with PC3200 Memory/ P4 with 800FSB. So guys I am so confused now. It making no sense. I use think in P4 with 800FSB memory bus is quad-pumped. The real frequencies are 100/133/200 MHz; in actual data pahses. |

No need to be confused, its not abnormal for manufacturers to have contradictory material.
Especially given the fact that with BIOS updates the capability of a particular motherboard will change. Like you said 200 Mhz FSB is actually quad-pumped to have 800 Mhz. And DDR memory is actually Doubled so 200 Mhz is refered to as DDR400. |

Intel CPU is 800FSB because of the quad 4x200Mhz = 800Mhz. What ever you do with the intel memory , just time 4.
My system is 3Ghz ( 15x200Mhz = 3.0Ghz , 800FSB ), but I ran my RAM @ 250Mhz so the system now is running @3.75Ghz (15x250Mhz - 3.75Ghz, 1000FSB ). That's why if you want to run Intel, you need high speed memory in order to get the higher FSB. I hope I don't confused you more. |
