Default Opinions on this Acer Desktop

Looking for an upgrade for my room, I don't need anything super powerful. I was actually sitting for the next coming $299-399 refurb from FS or stOOpleS, but a friend showed me this and I'm really tempted cuz it's a quad core.

ACER Media Center PC featuring Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (3GB Memory and 500GB Hard Drive) and ACER 22” Widescreen LCD Monitor $999.99

What do you guys think? Hot or not? I wanted an opinion on the 22' and that setup. All that I ask of the computer is decent enough video card to handle a game like orange box.

This is not a gaming setup. You still need to spend several hundred bucks on top of this combo to play games at decent speed ...

Well I know it's not a gaming setup, but with it being stock, no modificatinos. will it run a game like orange box without problems? Or will I have to grab a better video card? Or is it missing more than that?

This is a nice deal for a quad core and the screen is actually pretty nice.

However, Acer opted for integrated graphics in order to bring the price down. Any integrated graphics sucks for gaming. yes, you may technically be able to play the game but it would look like crap and you would not be happy.

Now, you can get this and add a video card and you would be in a good position. You can check the BST for video cards or buy one from a store.

This computer has PCI express slot so adding a video card is no problem as long as you dont go overboard and get the top of the line card as they require more power than the powersupply in that computer could handle.
