Default Ontario insurance, no fault, parking lots... how does it work?

So you get into an accident in a parking lot. Pulling out of a parking space. Neither party thinks the other was really at fault. Totally amiable. Exchange addresses and insurance info. Two cars parked directly across from each other. both backed up at the same time out of their spots and didn't see the other one. So symmetrical situation. No matter how you look at it, even legally, fault is 50/50.

What are the actual repercussions of this?

It was in a parking lot of a mall. Does either party legally have to file a claim or contact police to report it?

Party A has damage. They call their insurance company. They pay their deductable and get repairs. Does party A insurance go up?

Party B has no visible damage and decides not to call their insurance. Does Party A's insurance ever contact Party B's insurance? Does Party B's insurance go up?

Assume neither party has any damage other than paint scuffs and no one contacts their insurance. Is it like it never happened?

Anything else?

If there are no injuries, the best thing would be to take care of your own damages. Even being 50% responsible for an accident will affect your insurance the same as if you were 100% at fault.

this may help ..
