Default NO ONE wants Carter!

Article from the Orlando Sentinel:
www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~tehampar/orlando.html

I re-created it as an html file because you would normally have to register an account to read the article. But here is the official link for "verification":

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sport...,4946416.story

Another article from the Toronto Sun about no teams calling Raptors for Carter:

http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/Toront...21/637511.html

Pretty funny...neither Orlando nor the Heat (places he wanted to go) don't want him. The Mavs dont want him either. I wonder if he's "suprised" to see what his trade value is right now. My god...if they wouldn't trade Francis for Carter...we're really going to get shi*t in return...

You get what you give.

It is that simple.

Trade him to the washington generals.

He would be the best player on that team bar none.

Just what his ego wants.

Carter > Francis so I don't see why we would make that stupid trade anyways. Francis didn't want to go to Vancouver and he's going to wine and ***** here like the annoying little ewok that he is.

yea but thats whats pretty funny. everyone knows carter is better than francis....and the fact that the GM would rather keep francis over carter must make carter squirm....haha oh well =)

i'm still pro-carter....but i just think its funny that no ones really interested...

also funny how he "wanted to be on a winning team"....yet doesnt want to be traded to the western conference....where there are a huge number of teams that are championship material...

anyone know what his reasons are for not wanting to go to the west? cause to me it just seems like he knows the competition is harder..but why would he say it like that in the paper making him look weak?...thats why im wondering if theres another reason why he doesn't want to go to the west...housing preference? could that be it?

He's getting a max contract and he's been injured at least 30% of the season.
Who wants that and a bum set of knees?

Thanks hilarious. LOL!! BTW, that the Orlando Slantinel you're citing, so I wouldn't bother with that article.

Hear me out...

I think the Raptors should trade Carter away for just his salary, meaning don't pick anyone up for him. No one wants to give away players for him, but I bet a lot will be willing to pick up his contract to add to their depth.

Take the money that would have been spent on this year's salary and tell everyone that they are going to give the team 1 year to see if they can do it without him. They pretty much have been without him the past few years as he is often injured. It could also instill confidence in the rest of the team that they are worthy of being there and don't need to rely on Carter. It gives a sense of trust.

As long as the public knows this is the plan from the get, they will likely support the team whether they do well or not. Can they do much worse?

Then, if after 1 year they have a horrible season, take the money they saved on Carter's salary and get a good player that doesn't complain as much.

If after the season they find out that they did well, they can take that salary and improve upon the success.

The only possible negative effect this could have is lack of fan support. But if they aren't kept in the dark, the sales will still be up and maybe higher as people would know that they are depended on for this to work. You would think the majority of the fans at the games are there for the team, not simply for Vince Carter. He's not Michael Jordan.

I think its a bold move, but it would likely work.

Any thoughts?

Nobody wants to sign in Toronto, so free-agent cap space money does us no good.

I thought if the raptors WERE to trade away carter, they MUST take back player's contracts equally carter's within 15%....so I dont think we can just give him away for money can we? =S...
