[Games] MW2 for PC $49.99 at Bestbuy till 10/12/09

Tried searching but could not find this posted already. Sorry if it's a repost.

Bestbuy has the PC version of MW2 for $49.99. Just picked it up at the Burnaby location. Price still said $59.99 but clerk adjusted to to lower price. Heard them say they had 16 copies left.

For those interested the retail version will authenticate on Steam and can be played earlier then the Steam version.

Dont buy codmw2 PC version it is terrible! no console, no dedicated servers, it is the console port with mouse look. get the console version

Just to make sure, this does mean that once you activate it on steam you can have all the benefits as if you bought it on steam to begin with right?

Yes. Steam is required to play the game. Boxed retail copies get all the same benefits through Steam as digitally purchased copies on Steam do.

If you have a decent PC, why would you want the console version if it's not any better? Plus FPS are much better on PC and this is cheaper than the console versions.

There's a boycott going for the PC version right now.

I'm avoiding it cause they are turning this game into the console version. Join the other 150K people who have cancelled their orders.

Don't support IW for what they're doing to the PC consumers.

Max 18 players, 100 ms ping at least, no console, no mod support, no lean, no dedicated servers.

Everything that gave the PC version of CoD4 the one up on console versions are completely gone.

Well I'm boycotting the game until we get some actual deals on it

Just played Modern Warfare 2 for the past 2hrs on xbox. It was welllllllll below my expectations. Its more of an expansion than anything. It should never have been released as a standalone game.

Anyways, I'm calling to cancel my PC order tomorrow morning.
I can't believe they sell this garbage for $49.99

I'll wait for Battle field: Bad Company 2 to come out in Feb.

Not true... most gamers are getting it on console and the game are really only as good as the gamers you play with. Console have more dedicated servers, more gamers = more fun. Also the focus is on consoles since thats where the $$$ is right now.

This is an obvious attempt to milk both the call of duty and modern warfare names.

i think it really comes down to

how many of your friends are getting the game and for which console/pc...as there is no cross-console support. which sucks.

i've always hated aiming with the controller, only aiming with the mouse is natural to me. but playing any multiplayer game without friends generally gets you bored of the game really quickly, and thus, reducing replay-ability.

yeah the fact that theres no console and no dedicated servers to the game, but they designed the game for the console and pretty much did a port to it. what can you do, the game companies design their game so they can make money out of it and they dont listen to the people who buy the game but those that sign their paycheques.

OK, so PC gamers are upset about the servers. But why is this release such a big deal anyway? I don't remember people lining up for any of the previous 5 in the series.
