Hello,
I currently reside in BC area and I am moving to U of T rez this upcoming September. As shipping is very expensive, I want to bring the most important stuff first. (I will be visiting my family during school break so I can slowly bring 'not so important' stuff later) Im sure there were some students who regretted that they shouldve brought XXXX from home. Can I get some ideas? Thanks Don |

I did the long distance move. For the first time move, I brought my laptop, clothes, towel/toilettries, blanket and pillow, a few hangers, a backpack, and that was about it. I would add ipod to that list now. I bought stuff while at University, such as a stereo, and then stored it at a friend's place when I went back home for the summer
Pretty much, first year I wasn't in my room much anyways, just to sleep and change. |

I brought most of the stuff on that list and used none of it. All I bring now is clothes, towel, toothbrush, computer stuff, bedding, documents, and school stuff. Everything else you can borrow or buy cheaply when needed (which you probably won't).

two words: mini-fridge
oh and stereos for your computer, make sure you figure out how to use DC++ (if UBC has a network, pretty sure they do) and download alot of movies and invite people to come and watch. great way to make friends and your room will be 'the place to be,' if you enjoy that sort of thing. have fun and gl with your roommate Last edited by sweeper; Aug 5th, 2008 at 12:36 AM.. |
