Default Minor rant: TV shows not ending at the scheduled time

If they don't want us to download torrents, will the powers that be please refrain from ending TV shows at 10:07 and such frickin odd times? I'm eagerly anticipating watching the season finale of "Rome" on my Bell PVR and the damned recording ends before the show finishes. ***K! Now I have to download the damn thing so I can watch the last couple of minutes of it.

May the network or satellite provider execs or whoever is responsible be cursed with a plague of locusts.

It's called an over run and it is a smart way of stealing away viewers of other television shows.

Do you know how fast HD shows fill up a 30gig PVR? Adding 20 minutes to every who would make it a 20gig disk.

I've been noticing it lately...it's EVEN WORSE when Canadian networks like CTV/Global TV SimSub it.

Extending it 3 minutes does the job.

yeah, I have to start doing that (adding 2 mins) to shows
Grey's Anatomy being the most obvious one

Sucks when
1. you have to download a 350MB show JUST to watch first or last 1~2 minutes
2. when there's are 2 tv shows to be recorded RIGHT AFTER, then PVR raises a conflict, asking you to cancel one

In the case of Rome, it's because it originates on HBO and is not obligated to air its shows in neat blocks. Episodes of that show range anywhere in length from 48-65 minutes or so.

Shows on the big networks just like to do it to mess up the ratings of its competitors.
