If HDDVD format ever goes belly up, I wonder what the possibility of Microsoft releasing a Blu-ray drive for the 360 would be? I for one wish that a separate blu-ray drive was available for the 360. I wonder what the cost of such a drive would be...

probably next to none, but they have to support BR because of PC. 360 probably won't ever seen blu-ray at all. Maybe 720 or what ever the hell they call it, but even then I think games will be downloaded instead of comming on discs.

If they released a Blu-Ray drive now and it was about the same price as the HD-DVD drive I would buy one providing I could have both connected at the same time.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a $200 Blu-Ray add on drive for the holiday season, made for the XBox 360

In any way, there's no much point on a BluRay addon since unlike the PS3, XBOX still does not use high capacity disks for games

God you're such an annoying fanboy. You never have anything remotely positive or meaningful to add to a discussion. If Microsoft released a Bluray drive (in the event the HDDVD format 'fails') it would imply that are willing to switch gears and support what consumers are demanding. It wouldn't contradict any of the positive bullet points of HDDVD. It would mean that they are offering consumers the CHOICE of format they wish to view movies. Actually, I personally would love it if Microsoft released a bluray drive right now. That way I would have a cheaper way to enjoy bluray movies along side my MS HDDVD drive.

Microsoft can respond to market conditions and offer BR player, sony is the company that was denying PS3's weren't selling and saying PS3's were sold out when they were gathering dust. most funy was the sony exec who was so delousional to say he'll offer $1000 dollars to anyone that could find a PS3 available when they were everywhere |

Do you know how many times Sony lied through their teeth? They lied about their console specs, then about their launch time until just weeks prior to their original spring 2006 launch, then about rumble being last gen only to come out a year later promising support for rumble, and many other things. Blu-ray add-on would be similar to HD-DVD add-on (ie. just for movies) so I don't see how it would be pointless. I really don't care what they do since I the HD versions of movies don't matter all that much to me right now. Maybe in a few years when the 720 comes out I'll start caring. :P |

But don't you find it contradictory on Microsoft's part?
