I'm going into my second year. I completed 1 year of Biological Sciences and Concurrent Education.
The thing i was wasnt planning on going to university last year, and in the Mid of July I decided I would (I had only a 75% average in HS and was headed to college). So I applied to Mac, Brock and UOIT in mid July all for science. I was accept at UOIT and brock but not mac (they were full). But I ended up choosing UOIT cause the concurrent education. I got A-'s in Bio, Chem and teaching in second semester, and a C+ in Physics (I suck at physics) I didnt take calculus second semester. But now going into second year to UOIT I have switched to Commerce. My plan is to do this year of commerce here and then apply to macmaster at the end of the year to continue commerce there (so I can drive to Mac). Any comments/opinions? EDIT- just wanted to clarify, Brock has a concurrent EDU program too, but it was full. Last edited by x-batman; Aug 13th, 2005 at 03:33 PM.. |

I would definitely reccomend this school, and one thing I really like is that they try their hardest to help the students pass, they dont try to squeeze out people right now (I guess its because its just starting and not at a very high enrollment) My concurrent education prof (For B.Ed) is great also, the education program is structured very well, and they have a number of people from University of Alberta's education leader, Queens Uni, and Brock. |

This is interesting. I'm in Mac commerce. I was at this competition with teams from all the Ontario universities. The UOIT team...well, frankly they were terrible.
If you get the chance to switch to Mac commerce, it might be a good move. It's an okay program, not one of the best. The accounting program is decent. Marketing and finance, less so. But there are lots of opportunities to get involved and improve your resume, as well as an internship program. |

if they try their hardest to help students pass... it seems that they're adjusting grades or doing something regarding marks to help students pass.... sorry, i guess i'm a bit biased since its a new uni and all. |

a degree is a degree
If you leave Ontario to get a job your degree is just as good as someone elses. It's all about what you know/who you know. It doesn't matter if your degree is from UofT or Queens or from UOIT (in most fields).. As long as you know your **** and you know someone to get you in then your set. |
