In leather sofas, you typically get what you pay for - the leather one place calls leather may be pseudo leather, or vinyl, or whatever. Be cautious on that, as well as construction.

Don't bother with leather unless it's expensive....otherwise you will be cold in the winter and sticky in the summer on it.

if i remembered correctly there are 4 different types of leather, and they differ in progressing leather grain (smoothness) and thickness

another thing to consider with a couch is the foam they used... make sure you sit on the couch to feel its firmness is something you want

You can try the sofa store that has samples set up in the centre court of Pacific Mall. They have full leather as well as half leather sofas, much larger selection downstairs too. I was planning to get sofas from them, but still shopping around.

Those cheap leather sofas aren't actually 100% leather, they have a PVC match on the back. The Brick sofas are cheap and IMHO pretty good value. Naturally cheap sofas are made in China, even Italian leather sofa may be manufactured in China using italian designs or leather (unlikley though). Ask your sales person the crunch question, is it cow hide or pig skin. All cheap sofa are made from pigskin. A cheap pigskin PVC match 3 seat sofa costs from $100US a love seat is marginally less (-$10) and a chair is probably $20 less add about the same plus (100%) for shipping to north america and you have the retailers cost price. After the mark up that means a leather sofa and loveseat can be had for $600 like the boxing day offer you saw. If you live in Vancouver I suggest starting at one end of United Boulevard and head off to the other end untill you're sick to the sight of Leather sofas and I guaratee you'll find yourself a deal.

Are there any other places in GTA aside from P.Mall?

I'm looking for either:
a leather sofa
or
leather/PVC sofa
or
PVC sofa.

I have a PVC sofa now, but it was purchased just so I *could* have a couch. I'd like something bigger. This one was only $200.00.

I need it to be about 7' Long, so it could sit 3 persons comfortably, or one person lying down comfortably.. and a good height off the ground too.

I've not seen any fully PVC couches that are marketed like leather couches, with the same designs of leather couches. But I am sure somewhere they might exist. If I could get one with those dimensions, for the price of a PVC sofa, I'd be estatic!

Realistically:
Price range.. $600 to $1000 after tax.

Thanks!

I've been searching for a contemporary leather couch for a while now, checked out all the usual places. Decorium has a decent sale on now, 25% off lowest ticket price, and they have a good selection of leather. Nothing I liked, however, I have something very specific in mind.

Stoney Creek furniture is a hike for Toronto folks, but it's even bigger than Decorium, massive selection. Their prices are generally quite good, maybe because their overhead is low due to being far out.

We ended up finding exactly what we wanted at a family run store in Burlington that has been around for 30 years. 100% leather couch, solid wood frame, no sag springs, $1000 plus taxes, on sale.

I think I've found a winner myself with Stoney Creek furniture.

$79 shipping from Stoney Creek to Toronto & the couch I want is on sale from 1649, 1290.00 sale price .. DEAL!
