Default List your recycling ideas here

I'll start here:

1. STYROFOAM AND PLASTIC BAGS

Styrofoam and plastic bags: OK, so I've begun collecting my household's styrofoam and plastics...you won't believe it...but even though your family may resist it initially they'll go with you eventually. (Before the green bin program, I used to dig all the compost into the backyard...still do in the summer with watermelon and watery, moldy crap) But you can get the foldable metal wiring frames that you can put in your garage, and put a large clear plastic bag in.

Then supermarkets like Dominion and the Barn recycle plastic bags so when you've accumulated a lot just bring em there.

Also, styrofoam...over 2 weeks, I have already collected a whole bagful (not a shopping bag, a garbage bag sizeful! I'm gonna take these bags of styrofoam to a government or campus facility whenever it's convenient and on the way.
I believe a lot of hard plastic packaging would fit in this category.

2. BROKEN ELECTRONICS

Broken electronics eg. phones, 2 photocopiers, VCR's...I will put these in a dark corner of my house...since the city shamefully doesn't even support recycling these, only Environment Days will collect these. I've done extensive research and been unable to find someone who'll do it. So rather than just trash it, I will take it in spring to one of those Environment Days, probably will fill my car full with dead electronic equipment that they can recycle and shred.

3. URINE
piss in a bottle and pour it over your lawn or your neighbor's (just kidding...but think of how many litres of water you save a day...probably at least 10 litres...that's 3560 litres of water a year!)

If you piss 10 litres of water a day you're drinking way too much.

And 3500 litres of water a year is not very much. That is like, $.50 on your water bill / year, maybe ( 50 cents / KL here for water).

See my other posts on why "water conservation" shouldn't be on the top of your green priorities list.
