Default LF: Good Camping Equipment Store in GTA

I'm new to Toronto and need to know where some good camping stores are. I'm looking for a good quality tent and some other things for the up coming camping season. So GTA'ers tell me where the best stores (selection, prices, etc.) are!

I'm sure people will suggest Mountain Equipment Co-op, LeBaron, and all the usual suspects, but I would like to suggest a lesser known store that has a much better selection and better prices than any of those.

Tent City Outfitters up at Dufferin and Steeles has almost every model of tent from most of the major manufacturers actually set-up in their large store, so you can get right inside and see what it's really like, as opposed to the glamourized pictures in sales brochures. Even better, they often have discontinued/last year models for significantly discounted prices - unless you really need the latest most fashionable tent, and even then their price is competitive.

I'd suggest MEC for all round everything including information which is important if you're new to the area. They are both on the
web and have a store in toronto.

They are a co-operative, fund outdoor projects and are run by a board from cross canada. They started in vancouver 35 years ago (I've been a member for 32!) and employ people with outdoor hobbies as a source of info as well as for sales.
