Default LF: external drive & Sony ram

Looking for a friend.

They need a 250gig external drive and also Sony 512megs of ram for their Pc. Where is a good reliable place to get this and what prices are reasonable. I've looked at a few sights but pc terms don't mean much to me and I don't know what brands or stores are reputable. Any help/links/suggestions appreciated. Thanks kindly

There are different types of RAM, saying it was used in a Sony Computer isn't much info.
At least get us the exact Model #.
The cheapest Hard Drive I found was the LaCie Porsche 250GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive @ TigerDirect.ca for $256.99.

I'll mention to costco sale to her, not sure how important 250 gigs were to her. I found out about the ram, hope its the correct info as we both are not so pc illiterate But she presently has 256MB PC2100 DDR-SDRAM and wants 512more, hope that makes sense.

thanks again, T

A cheap solution for an external hd is to buy an internal and put it in an enclosure. That way, you get to save on the hd you want and the style/looks of the enclosure. You can get an enclosure for about 30-50.

The only problem with doing it on my or her own is either of us know stuff about pc's. So thats why purchasing something complete and problem free is a must.
