It seems reasonable that being said one cant really it all depends on many factors:
1 How difficult the case or issue at hand. 2 The experience of the lawyer or firm that you go to. 3 Location of the lawyer and where he would have to represent you. 4 Lawyer spend alot of time in court sometimes just waiting to present you file or case. (basically alot of long hours a day.) Overall there is not one determining factor. I have seen some lawyers charge $250.00 for a case another lawyer charge $100.00 to $90.00. |

It all depends on where you are located. I'm at a firm in downtown Toronto, and you couldn't even retain an Articling Student for $125/hour. But if you are outside of a major downtown core, it is definitely possible for one to find a lawyer for that price.

Agree here as well. I got charged $4500 for a business agreement with a US partner. It was worth it because the lawyer told me stuff to watch out for that I hadn't even considered. Even the US guys were impressed.
Basically what you pay is related in some way to how important the work is to you. Disbursement fees are pretty standard - you shouldn't see variances between lawyers. |

In my experience, the lawyers I've used for both personal and business related matters have charged anywhere from $350-$600/hr. These guys are sharks though. $125/hr does sound somewhat low.
