Laurier's messing up like crazy **UPDATE**

sooooo I'm heading to Laurier this year, and theyre messing up quite a bit. I haven't got a rez as of yet seeing as they are overbooked by about 70 students and I happen to be one of those 70. Note th at I did give my rez info in on time, hell my mom drove down on June 12 (the deadline) to give it in on time. When I call them, some of the guys say I got it in on time, some say I got it in a day late, which is ridiculous, because, as I said before, my mom drove down there herself.

Secondly, they said they sent me an invoice on august 4th, but I still havent gotten it yet. How can they send me the invoice when I haven't been assigned a rez yet, hence I can't have charges for rez on my invoice yet.

This is seriously messed up.

Don't stress and it'll all work itself out. This guy on another forum was saying he was going to defer his acceptance until next year because Laurier put him into an all guys res. At least you're not doing anything stupid.

Unless Laurier is wildly different from Western, I wouldn't go with that advice.

if worse comes to worse you'll live in a basement for your first year.

which will SUCK because you want to meet as many people as you can, and the best way to do so is by getting into rez.

call up laurier, say you want rez.

I'm getting rez, but its gonna take a bit longer to find out which one im in. the deadline to find out rez was august 4th, most people found out around july 20th. i still havent found out though.

yah it is messed..got a friend in the same situation..she's prolly gonna find a house for first year now :X..i can't believe it tho'..i mean..we hava a lotta spots for residence..new king street bldg too..dunno how that messed up. :X

lol, try not to stress over the situation. Minor bump in the road compared to the stress you'll be facing around late November.

I remember when I was getting my stuff for first year, Western sent out early acceptance packages in Feb, and most of the letters inside the package were addressed to me, but the actual acceptance paper had some other guy's name and address on it. A week later, I got my letter mailed to me from a girl in Ottawa who got my letter in her package, so I mailed the letter I got to the addressee in Richmond Hill. I've always wondered how many people were affected by this "one off" error.

check telaris for your invoice and stuff...they dont have to send you an invoice for you to pay

It messed up because we have an unexpected 10% increase in WLU confirmations this year.

but guelph and humber both have about 30% more overall..

you wanna know messed up?
i havent' even received my offer package yet and i got my offer back in march.
i had to push them to send me the res contract so i could hand it in on time.
but anyway, i don't need it anymore but i still want it for memory.

waterloo's admin is pretty terrible...all my gf ever complains about is their admin and their lack of doing anything on time/ or doing anything at all :X

haha that's what my boyfriend says about me.

nothing is wrong with living off-campus. try to enjoy waterloo, its a beautiful city.
