Default jeans - roll up or hem

Just to add another jeans thread....

do people still wear their jeans rolled up at the bottom or does everyone hem them? or is there an age thing?

Thanks

Well then you're lucky.

I get all my jeans/pants hemmed. Most important is how the pants fit at the top; the length can be dealt with afterward.

I wear runners every day (ie. no heels, no flats), so my pants are always the perfect length.

i don't like to hem, but i hate to fold, i try to get jeans that are my length, or i pin em up in the back so they don't get mashed up under my shoes.

Preferably buy proper length, otherwise hem.

Rolling is ghetto and not good ghetto either.

I either hem or cuff.

Hemming isn't easy, I'm sorta picky, so I hope I"ll be able to find a tailor or just hem at home with a same coloured string.

Another solution is french hemming; you cut off the original hem, shorten it, and re-attach it to the pants.

I've also read solutions on how to make your newly hemmed jean hem look like the original. They are:

-sandpaper the hem with various grains
-mildy bleach the hem to have it look older
-scratch up the hem a little with either scissors or a knife

I keep forgetting that some brands like Levi's measure the length of their jeans from the waist, not the hips.

I'm short so I have to fold them up. I probably look stupid but I don't think it looks that bad. Why don't I hem..? Maybe cos I'm just hoping to grow taller =)

length is always measured by inseam, which is from the crotch to the bottom of hte hem.

Folding up the hem would additionally shorten the line of your body. Get a pair that are correct length and you'll appear not as short.
