Default Iran to fund Hamas/Palestinian Gov't to the tune of $250M

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...221901,00.html

The London-based Arabic-language newspaper al-Hayat reported Tuesday that Tehran promised Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal it would transfer USD 250 million to the Palestinian Authority as compensation for the freezing of American aid to the Palestinians.

--------------------------
What nice partners in terrorism they will make.
--------------------------

Abu Laila said he was pleased with the fact that Europe reversed its stance as expressed by EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana regarding the freezing of funds “without Hamas having to make any concessions or yield to pressures.”

“Hamas will continue to uphold its principles even if the aid will be stopped,” he added.

All the while people in this forum claim that Iran is a poor country, little do they know that while Iranian people are dying of hunger , the governemnt gives billions of dollars away to terrorists, and that's what's remained excess of how much the mullahs have stolen for themselves and for their families.

I personally don't understand this position. The Palestinians voted for Hamas knowing they would lose US $. It was a legitimate vote with a legitimate outcome.

i think a more telling commentary would be to say Iran is a supporter of a government - Hamas - that has ....as part of it's platform ( Charter )...... a call for the obliteration of Israel and the genocide of the Jewish people. Democracies were in place when Hitler came to power to...democracies aren't immune to propaganda and fear mongering ...look at GWB.

Correct, the voters in Palestine democratically elected a terrorist organization( Hamas )...which speaks for itself ..and in doing so, it is now clear the Palestinian people have spoken and that they ( with the full knowledge of the Charter ) support terrorism.

Oh my (Insert your God), I actually agree with Poedua on something!

To exercise this further, not only are democracies not immune from propoganda and fear mongering, many would say they set the bar for all propoganda and fear mongering.

Since the power is effectually in the hands of the people, you must sway their thoughts for the proper outcome. Violence seems to be a new introduction to the American Democracy, but primarily violence is the tool of an Autocrisy/Oligarchy.

Anyway, it just blew me away that Poedua and I had a similar though process. Go us!
