Default iPhone: Cheapest Cellphone Plan

Looking for a cheap monthly cellphone plan for my iPhone. How much does it cost for minutes, internet, and text? Nothing special, just basic stuff.

As this is an iPhone, Rogers/Fido/Virgin/other only.

If its over $25/month, is there a better PayAsYouGo?

You got an iphone and want pay as you go? Don't you think thats overkill? I guess you want the music function and phone together? Virgin is CDMA so that is out. Fido plans are slightly better for pay as you go...but I am still shocked at what you are doing....

good luck with trying to get a cheap plan and internet, data plans in canada are pretty ridiculously expensive(and all limited bandwidth) compared to the states and many other countries.

Currently I think rogers is the only network that could support the iphone, it has blackberry plans for data, the most expensive(for consumers) is $90 a month and that only comes with 25mb of data(on the iphone you could probably use that in half a day, maybe less). I know they have a $200 plan hidden somewhere with 200mb, which is the max of any data plan in canada. but both of these pretty much are ruled out for a cheap plan, so you'll probably have to stick to wifi.

No, that is wrong. PAYG is a last resort if theres nothing cheaper. Would like to stay away from it if at all possible.

That is what I figured. In terms of a voice plan, whos got the cheapest? I only need 150-200 minutes a month plus 100 text in.

You can go for something like Roger's My5 and then sell the phone you get.

Though Rogers' plans are decent, it'll stack up alot.

I've been using Fido's PAYG $20 monthly(Though some months it's $30 or $50), so I ported to Rogers, got the w580i which I'm selling. I'm on the $20 Megatime plan(still $32 after taxes) which is a pretty crappy plan atm, but a beggar can't be a chooser. I hope to upgrade it to either the My5 sometime during my contract, but right now I don't need it. Yet.

As well, since Roger's is probably the front runner for getting the iPhone(whenever that is), when it does come out, I could see if the data plans are decent and switch to that plan. As long as I'm on contract, I can freely switch plans, just that it has to be for 3 years :p

Does anyone know if its possible to transfer a Fido PrePaid with $150 on it, into a monthly plan-switching name and address on the account at the same time?
