Default Iceland?

Hi all, in August I'm planning on going to London and then onto Scotland. I'm also itching to visit Iceland (always been interested in the place). Has anyone ever been? Where did you fly from?

thanks in advance!

Thanks - do you know of anyone who has actually been there? Supposedly it has a very short tourist season in the summer ...

Anyone else?

I was in Iceland in June/July of last year. The temps were around 10-15 C for most of the day. I wore a light spring jacket most of the time.

I agree that signing up for Icelandair's weekly e-mails are a good idea - Icelandair discounts it's fares to make the layover attractive to people shopping for flights to Europe who would otherwise take nonstops... and allows an up to 3 day layover in Iceland for free.
