Default Hunter ceiling fan at costco-review

Until sunday its 30$ off. I think it was 179.99$ before coupon.

Just finished installing it and it's amazing. Very good quality. I already had an old ceiling fan which i threw out so the junction box was already there. Very well balance and is ultra quiet. The motor is silent and powerful. The blades are large too. All you hear is the air moving when on high. One note it's very heavy...around 40lbs which makes it very solid. I've checked the blades in all speeds and directions are there is no wabbling, just perfect balance!

I've installed 5 ceiling fans and in the past i've always had to make adjustments and even then they still vibrated a bit. this is the first time i got it right the first time!

It took me about 2 hours to install by myself. Because of some wiring issues i had to call hunter tech support. They actually were able to help! The took me step by step which wires to connect. It is more complex then a regular fan because there is also a receiver to connect to the wires but it's worth the extra work in the end.

It looks beautiful! I highly recommend!

Default Fan

If you use the OPA coupon, it's another $25.00 off

Agreed, Hunter fans are the best. I installed one in the bedroom last year. It's completely silent on the slowest speed and the only fan I've been able to sleep under while it's on.

For those in Ontario, with the OPA coupon, this is a steal.

Question is if Costco accepts OPA coupons.

Bare in mind taxes are on the full amount.

Bought one last time at costco when they had the coupon (believe more than $30). When installed, the remote malfunctioned. Called them and they shipped a replacement remote (took 10 weeks as it was out of stock). Yet to change it.

The OPA is the Ontario Power Authority. There are also various rebates for Quebec, $25 for lights, $15 for lighting fixtures such as this fan (it does qualify).

Click here for the link to the PDF from Hydro Quebec and save yourself $15 mail in, good till December 31 2009. Save them up and apply all at once as you are allowed a maximum of 5 rebates. It includes outdoor fixtures, motion detector lights and more.

Be sure to save your receipts (or a copy) and the ORIGINAL UPC from the product packaging!

I love ceiling fans, I might have to get one of these, thanks OP!

The Costco in Kanata (Ottawa) didn't need the OPA $25 coupon as it took off $55 automatically at the cash. $170 + taxes - $55 off.

I bought 3 last spring and installed in 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 was defective with the light so it is going back this year. We bought a new one this year to replace it. Very quiet and provides enough cooling air in the summer at night and leaving the AC on at a slightly higher temp (thermostat at 26C downstairs --> upstairs warmer at 28C due to heat rising). It comes with a 18W GU-24 bulb so if you can find another higher wattage bulb (i.e. 23W GU-24) you can replace it for more light - i found that the 18W is a bit too dim to read to the kids and requires an extra table lamp for that.

Unit is heavy and requires you to trim about 1' of excess wires to fit in the housing. We got a similar fan from HD for $250 just before Costco started carrying these! Remote has 3 fan speeds plus reverse and light. The remote can hang on the existing switch with the included adapter - quite handy. The fans can be configured using jumper switches (combination of 4-3-2-1 switches) so the remotes are unique and won't control other fans unintentionally.

Excellent fan for the price after rebates. Highly recommended if you can use one. Beats the best floor fans out there.

...and at Merivale they keep a copy of the coupon at the checkout that they simply scan, you don't need to take it in.

Also, remember to keep your receipt as light fixtures are eligible for the renovation tax credit making this an even better deal

thanks..for the link.

I browsed around the site and found the list of
Participating Retailers. I see Coscto on the list, but they do not have check mark for ceiling fans. Does that mean they will not honour coupon?

Thanks,
