Thumbs up Honda Rebate, detail here

Honda canada has lowered their finance/lease rates for many of their cars/SUVs a few days ago. Also they have introduced for the first time, a cash discount if you decide not to use Honda's financing and use a bank rate!

New Ridgelines, Pilots, Odyssey's have financing/lease rates of 0.9% up to 5 years, and cash rebates up to $5000!

**Added for easier reading**
Okay I will tell people all the cash rebate offers right now.

2007 Hondas
Odyssey's - up to $4000 (LX, EX models get $3000)
S2000 - $9000

2008 Hondas
Fits - $750 only on AT transmissions
Civics - up to $1500 (DX trims get $1000)
Accords 4cyl - $2000
Accords 6cyl - $4000
CRV - up to $4000 (LX & EX get $3000)
Pilots - $5500
Ridgeline - up to $5000 (LX gets $4000)
Element - $3000

How does this rebate thing work? After you haggle them down on the MSRP price, then do they apply the rebate?

Hmm... 2007 Honda Odyssey EX is going for US$24600 south of the border, which is under CA$22500. In Canada, they're CA$38440. We're supposed to be content with a mere $3000 rebate on a 2007 vehicle?!

I would assume the rebate comes from Honda Canada and does not cut into the dealers profit margin, meaning you should be able to deal even further.

I agree with Rehan that it does not seem like much compared to US pricing. However Honda Canada has stated they will increase rebates further if vehicles don't move this month.

Total FUD from Honda imho.. In their paper ads they don't even mention the cash rebates. They are doing whatever they can to hold on to their "we do low financing" model.

Whenever they lower the prices a little via rebates, there's going to be another sucker that's sold on the idea that Canada has price matched it.

Support!!! Seems like they don't treasure our business and we don't have to be loyal to them.
Buying from the states is much more easier than before.

Call.. and straight out tell them your calling every Honda dealer in your neighborhood. Whoever gives you the lowest price will get your sale.
