With lease rates these days Honda Pilot and Honda Odessey are about the same monthly payment and I am leaning more towards Pilot. I know it'll be less efficient on gas than Odessey but not much as they use the same engine if I am not mistaken.
What would you take and why? TIA |

Look at the insurance rates of both cars. Pick the cheaper one. The car price is a one time deal, insurance will stick with you for a long time.
Does you family include babies or kids? If so, mini-vans are almost always more convenient. |

I'd go with the Odessey just because I despise SUVs. What about a nice wagon?

Every thread that mentions an SUV, some tree hugger loves to take shots at it. Before you list the EVILS of SUV, you preachers aint going to change the MAJORITY of the population who actually likes the styling, versatility and safety. Their sales are down yet new SUV are still being introduce from Audi, Subaru, Saab, etc...There's a healthy market for them and they're here to stay, just shadup and drive your wagon. |

They're both Honda, so you'll be safe in the reliability and resale department. The new Odessey is one pimp van not reserved for the soccer mom crowd anymore. It's all a matter of preference and your family situation...for size get the Odessey but for "style" and less cargo get the Pilot. |

On pure looks, go for the Pilot as the new Odysesy looks like ass (well of course you definition and my definition of what looks like ass could vary greatly). As for proven Honda relaiblity....huh...well Toyota's the only one that's got that covered anymore, especially on the mini-vans.

I simply stated that I (me, lone, one person, myself... no one else) despise SUVs. Where the hell did I list why they're so bad? What shots did I take at the Pilot? Where did I say "BY THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T GET THE SUV"?? Someone needs to shut up before they go AWOL for no good reason. |

? Because I generalized you into a group of anti-suv tree huggers? We all know what you're implying by saying I "depise" SUVs. Lets not kid ourselves when there's a discussion on SUV's someone loves to ruin the thread by turning into "save the whales" dont buy an SUV. I know I'm not helping either...Sorry OP, back to the topic. |

I apologize to the OP for the tangent. Don't have to consider my words at all, but this is a discussion forum. Both should be reliable, but it really depends on your priorities. Price? (Odessey) Styling? (Pilot) Capacity? (Odessey may be a little more forgiving if you have 6th/7th passenger) Cargo? (either) Last edited by BD006; Dec 4th, 2005 at 03:10 PM.. |

Test drive them both with your family and take a poll. They're the ones who have to sit in it for years to come, not us.
