Use what the pros use--heat gun Enough heat to loosen the adhesive but not so much that you damage the paint.

I don't think so, it isn't easy to damage the paint because the adhesive on the badge will come loose far before that. Anyone I've ever known that de-badged a car has done it with a heat-gun and they are not pros at all.

But this will only work easily if that is the original foam/rubber adhesive backing on the badge. If the car was painted, for example, and they didn't use the same type of foam tape (or replace the badge with a new one) and they glued it on with some kind of glue, then you've got a problem because it may not be easy to get the badge off after that.

It really depends. On an Acura Integra, you can pretty much pop it off with a slim jim. Slide a sheet of paper thru till it hits the pin and glide down. Then use something thin and strong like a slim jim. I know it works, because I've done it on my Teg. I do it only to prevent someone from stealing mine and scratching the paint.

Do you mean that the body underneath the emblems is rusting?
I can't see the emblems rusting. Aren't they just made of chrome painted plastic?

A heat gun maybe a little extreme. Try using a blow dryer and some fish line. However, there is usually two pins on the emblem of the Accord which is pushed into two tiny holes on the trunk lid. I know because mine was stolen twice!
