Default Help: choose a Harmony remote

I'm looking for a mid-end Harmony remote control, but got confused by so many models they are offering. I can find 5xx, 6xx, 7xx, and 8xx series (1000 is too expensive for me) in the market. Is there a place I can find a comparison chart of all the remotes? Or please share your experience with your model. Thanks.

If you check Logitech's website they should have a comparison of some sort. If not go to bestbuy or futureshops website and click the checkbox to compare all the different models. I have the 880 myself and am happy with it. Nice display, easy to setup, rechargeable w/ dock, and compatible with everything I have in my setup. I'd recommend it if you have a complex home theatre setup.

I too have the 880 and love it. It has replaced every remote in my home theatre and I haven't lost any functionality whatsoever. My only issue with it is the volume up button has become a little less sensitive after a years worth of use, and I have to press harder on that button only to make it work, though it still works fine.

I have the 880 too. Great remote. Only thing it don't like is the peanut shape of the remote. Makes it a little tougher to hold and change channels (buttons at the side). Remote tends to spin a bit in my hand. (hope that makes some sense).
Not a huge deal, but I prefer the flat shape of the 550.

Only other problem with Harmonys (in general), is that I'm always buying things just because they have an IR remote ability. IE: window ACs, pedestal fan, electric fireplace, lights controls, etc.. It's an addiction.

I have owned both a 659 and now an 880 (On sale from time to time for about $120), so far no issues with either unit and they're both a breeze to setup and use. Waiting for a good deal on a 1000 series remote to upgrade. I believe the 1000 series is RF which should give it better range and avoid any LOS issues you may ever come across.

Where do you find these sales? I've been waiting for weeks to get a deal on the 880, but I haven't found it for less than $150. Once you tack on tax, you're pretty close to $200. That's a little much for me...
