I think Hello Kitty is no longer that popular in Japan...... This thing looks like for Hong Kong market. But then PS2 is more popular there anyways

Ummm I don't think this is an April Fool's joke. The date of the cnet article is March 9, 2005. And there's already a Hello Kitty GBA and Dreamcast, so it's not surprising to have an Xbox too...

The Hello Kitty game was released in SG on March 28, 2005 and the cnet article says this limited edition Xbox is for SG. So it makes sense to release a special edition console along with the game.
