Default Has anyone heard of Nexen Eurowin Snow Tires?

I called up Tires Unlimited and got a quote on a set of Nexen Eurowin Winter Tires. The guy I spoke with says they are manufactured by Kumho but after some research I found out they are not. It's a Korean company named Woosung that manufactures the tire. He quoted $420 including tax and installation for tires only.

Has anyone tried these tires before? I've never even heard of Nexen. Any good?

Go for Viking Snowtech tires. They should be the same price or cheaper and they are definitely made by Continental. Reviews have been excellent too.

Wheels direct quoted me the same tire a while back, depending on ur size. 420 might be high.. I got quoted 195/65/15 Nexen for 350 tax in,installed in at wheels direct. They said it was manufactured by kumho also, i end up going for Hanook for a little bit more.

Thanks.
My first choice was the Vikings but they are out of stock. I kinda figured that $420 was too high...195/55/15.

I've been trying to call Wheels Direct and Tire Depot but their phone is 'off the hook' (not in the good way, they are not answering the phone).

I dont' know if its the same for that tire, but a friend of mine has Nexan N2000, and they are not quality tires (what do you expect). In fact the car pulls strongly to the right with them on. Brought it to garage for alignment, and they rebalanced wheels, and swapped wheels around (where diff combinations had diff amounts of pull). Couldn't get rid of the pull. They said they had these problems with Nexan before because I guess the manufacturing tolerances aren't that good. I guess for snow tires, one might be less picky

Well, YMMV, just giving you my experience. Good luck.

195/55/15 is an expensive tire to buy because of the lower profile

I dont agree it has something to do with the tire. Someone sucks at balancing properly or sucks at doing an alignment, or both. A buddy of mine on the net has Nexen winters and they dont sway anywhere. He actually refered them to me...

Based on everyone's input and the limited amount of info that I could dig up on the net, I've decided not to get the Nexen's. They happen to be quite big in Asia and Europe but just not in this part of the world.

The tire place was able to order a set of Vikings for the same price and they should be installed tomorrow. BTW: this is for my Mom's car, so I don't want to take any chances at all.
