Iconshot Great Websitest for Toddlers & Infants, Educational OR Flash-Games

Well., this is about the most important thing for us savvy folks.

My daugther was chillin' surfin' the net before she was able to hold her head up .

Try as I did, for the life of me I haven't found any site nearly as awesome as www.nickjr.com.

They go BONKERS for this site. The Whole Flash-based site concept is Great!

List your favourites, and I'll update the list.

I swear by www.starfall.com ; simply awesome. SK-Grade 3 we're keeping an eye out for www.brainpopjr.com. Free trial ends May 1st; we have a subscription to www.brainpop.com for my 11year-old. Very funny & educative. Ya, my 5 year old was teaching my aunt to use the computer....

For the parents:

www.edhelper.com

You spend some time on that site, perhaps even subscribe, and you'll never need to buy another 'workbook' again.

any more websites spring up since?

I'm looking for a site that will have a full-screen option and a game for smart-ass 2yr olds. If I don't find anything, I think I'm buying one of them gadgets from TRU, where it's a keypad with 5 buttons or less, and all the child has to do is push them to effect a movement or choice in the game. Cleans up the inundating factor a huge keyboard may have on a youngster when playing a game requiring only two or three buttons to be pushed.

Maybe a bit different, but my 2 year old loves YouTube and Google Images. I ask him what he wants and it comes right up. Usually it's trains or animals.

YouTube has some great videos of model train layouts that he goes crazy for.

interesting...I guess there's some value in image-based involvement....but what about MENTAL activity involvement? I am worried he's already doing that enough on the tv...I want him to DO SOMETHING when in front of the PC, rather just sit in front of it?

True, it's mostly just entertainment value. We do lots of other stuff that is educational, so I guess I just use the PC for fun, so far.
