137 is easy compared to 157, if you would believe that. The only numbers that you see in 157 are the page numbers (that's how theoretical and abstract it is ).
As for ryan123's racist comments, you need to analyze the system better, if you think you get high marks because you're asian

people who came from asia and europe do get ahead start on math compare to students in Canada. This is obviously a fact. Go to a grade 11 math class in China then got a grade 11 math class in Canada, u will clearly see the differences. Chinese students learn multiplication in grade 1.

Same with Eastern Europe, just like I was saying. Though that does not make asian or european kids "smarter". It's not the canadian kids' fault the system is built this way.

Math is so easy! Take Functions & Relations and make sure you do all the questions the teacher assigns. Just try and do lots of work and what I love is that you can listen to music while doing it.

It really depends on your teacher, I'd say. Some are really tough, others not.

I got 87% but the average was probably 70-75. You just gotta keep up on the homework.

Wierd, f&r is required in most schools.

I thought F&R was alrite, it wasn't hard nor was it easy. Also, it really depends on your teacher, because some teachers can explain it really good and you would understand, but if u have a crappy teacher teaching you then your pretty screwed hehe =p

I'm not the best in math and i got about 81 in Functions and Relations
now, this depends on what you are planning to go into (university wise)
if the program you are going in requires Discrete Math (Algeo) then you NEED to take functions and relations, otherwise, if you take FUNCTIONS, you can still get into Calculus and Data Management (Finite Math)

I did terrible in Calc.. 65%, and Data Mgmt ... 74%...
I dropped Discrete Math in the 3rd week cause I didnt understand anything, got 7/30 on first quiz/test...

i skipped classes after end of march when i got early admission into Ryerson lol... this was double cohort, so i was happy and yea, i went to maybe one or two classes a week? and attended tests and stuff

Oh my math marks in gr 10 was 80, wasnt that high.

i cant stress that enough...DO YOUR HOMEWORK and then ull get a 75 ez

alot of the stuff u learn in gr11 will be carried over to gr12 calculus

if u think its hard, wait til u see university calc
so u might as well take the hardest HS calc w/ the mentality that its easy b/c once ur in university
HS is a joke

as a student who just finisehd taking grade 11 math last year(I dropped a whopping 20 perdcen tform grade 10 to 11), I can safely say, homework is the key. I slacked off, and barely made a 74. I shaped up in the exam and think I am adequately prepared to take grade 12 calc and the such(with some more review before school starts), homework is the key. If you do the homework, it is not hard to get a 90(but math always came easy to me....except this year).

This could be differnt in your school though, because I know our math head has noted that there has been a significant drop in the whole school from grade 10 to 11 math. In grade 10, they didn't push us hard enough. I think the biggest difficulty was for us to adapt to such a big jump in work(as opposed to a very slow pace in grade 10). Grade 12's pace seems a bit better, and from what I have heard is actually easier(because the foundation is set).

And, if you are gonna take Data Management, do it in the summer or something, it is the easiest grade 12 math, and easiest math I have taken in my life. IMO you don't need any of grade 11 math to take it.

If you cant handle HS math, forget about University level...


HS Math is based on effort. Put in the time to do hwk and study for tests and the results will follow.

Can't say the same for University T_T
