Hey all,
I'm designing a website for a small Canadian goalie equipment manufacturer. I wanted to show it to some people and get their opinion, so if you wanna take a look at it and let me know what you think I would really appreciate it. Especially in regards to technical errors or problems viewing it, but your general opinion as well. Thanks for your help. Link Last edited by MooG; Oct 2nd, 2006 at 10:00 PM.. |

That's not actually all that bad for a small business website. A few things I would change:
1. No splash page. Period. I hate 'em, and they don't serve any purpose. Use your index as your splash page, and include the full navigation. 2. The logo looks fine, and most images are OK, but they make your top level navigation look a little weak. Consider cleaning that up a bit, or replacing the text with a font that matches the rest of the site. 3. You've got a bunch of images (the masks) that utilise transparency, but they're not matted for the black background, leading to a white line showing up around them. I would redo those in your paint program of choice. There do not appear to be any rendering issues with Mozilla. I'm sure someone will check it with IE. Nice work! Keep it up! EDIT: I will take 7 of everything at the current prices!

hey, I'm a goalie!
The main thing I would change is to add content to it. The way it presently is, is theres a picture of a glove, and very little description of it. This "commoditizes" it, and in no way explains why someone should buy their glove over those of the hundreds of other manufacturers out there. Take a look at www.donsimmons.com , www.eaglehockey.com , www.hockeygeeks.com and see if theres any ideas you can borrow from them. Goalie equipment is expensive, so a company has to really convince their buyers that their product is the right one. Last edited by stealth; Oct 26th, 2004 at 11:17 AM.. Reason: typo |

This person isn't selling mass produced product like simmons or hockeygeeks though. He is really competing with Battram and Miller. The Battam site is one of the best I've seen. The photo gallery really gives the user some ideas for their own equipment and let's Battram showcase the build quality of his equipment.
