Default Free things at hockey games (if you sign up for credit card) ?

Does anyone know if there is a fee on those credit cards? And if my income is under 9000$ will I get automatically refused and never bothered again ? It seems like too good of a deal to get a free t-shirt or blanket every time. Thanks

It's not a good deal because every time you apply for a new credit card, your credit score takes a hit, especially if you get turned down. Doing it once or twice is not a big deal, doing it more than that will really start to hurt your credit score.

I always wondered, couldn't you give them a fake SIN and the application would never go through? Or do they have some way of verifying it (or at least verifying that's it's a valid SIN) on the spot?

I've done that once or twice. Don't know the impact on the credit history. There was one time I got a letter (from MNBA, I think) asking me to contact them to verify some information, I just replied that I was no longer interested in their product.
