Default Free standing electric heater suggestions?

In the lower level of my house (I hate to call it a basement), I have my office and a family room. The family room has a nice gas fireplace in it which helps keep it toasty when you're in there.

My office, however, is slightly removed from that area, and it can get a tad nippy at this time of the year. I was thinking of investing in a little portable electric heater just to take the edge off when I'm working.

I see the current Canadian Tire flyer has a Noma model on sale for about $50 and it looks interesting.

Any tips? I had a little block ceramic heater years ago, and I think I'd like something that is a little bigger.
