I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds in posting a complaint coming from HowardForums.com--at that site, equalc51392 is known as vcrulez15, where he has been banned for scamming me; his hotmail address has been posted here, and it is a match, vcrulez15@hotmail.com. His real name is Equal Choi. Anyhow, here's the scoop:
LONG STORY SHORT: I (foolishly) sent him a money order for 290 Canadian dollars and he cashed it but insisted it wasn't him; this went on for months but recently admitted it was him under pressure but backed out on returning the money. Here's the full story: Foolishly I agreed to pay him by money order because he insisted he could not get PayPal because he is a minor. I sent a $290 Canadian money order to him on December 11 to cover the phone and shipping costs. At this point, I saw he had continued to post for offers on the phone. When confronted, he said that it was for his brother's phone that he was selling and subsequently 'closed' the thread using a poll. However, weeks went by and the money order apparently hadn't arrived; I looked into the process of getting it replaced, but had to wait until January 10. On the 10th I called Canada Post and found that it had been cashed on the 27th of December. vc15rulez had contacted me after that date wondering if I knew where it was; I had told him that I was sure it was lost by that point. Anyhow, this began a long cycle of lies by vc15rulez. He said that his address was not the one he had given me, but that it was a mistake. He asked for documentation on who cashed it, which I had to wait for, but I found that the postal code he said was his matched the original address he had given me. He then claimed that address was that of his friend, but he wanted proof to confront him with; later he said that Canada Post had recovered the money from his 'friend' but that it was frozen and I needed to call and have it unfrozen. This was not true. He has the money and has admitted it under pressure; he agreed to return the money and then backed out. I've given him a lot of time and room on this, but he's clearly scammed me. This post will soon be in the public fraud forum at howardforums. I'd like to warn off any potential buyers or sellers from dealing with Equal Choi, and if possible, seek an IP ban for him, as other people have suspected/experienced shady dealings from equalc51392 on this site. I also have his address and postal code, if it's kosher to post those. Thank you, likeafox (Brett Berry) |

This guy vcrulez15 may also be the other 'vince' accounts on hofo that I've caught for potentially scamming. Hes definitly around 17-19years old, he drove a car to meeet up with me and looked liek a teen.

There are already many and many stories about this Equal Choi Kid (He's a korean btw, I could tell from the font he use on msn). I think it's time to take action against him.

Stealing is not the right way, and you'll end up be talking to a cop instead of us. |

bring printouts of all your emails with him including the advanced HEADERS on them, and all proof you have, including the canada post proof of the m.o. being cashed, etc... to the local police station, and ask for the fraud squad their. i think 9-5pm mon to fri only. Tell them your whole story, and give them all the evidence, and that will get your ball rolling. Then get his local number by looking it up, last name, address, however you can, if it is not unlisted, and call his parents, and tell them what happened, and how you have already gone to police, etc...
THEN, there is some internet fraud squad too, etc... check the sticky in here. It will take 2 months prob. but then you will get your $$ back. Quote:

ya i think he is cb4-mvp.
its the same number as the vcrulez in hofo. also i pm'd him for a xbox 360 controller stating exactly that he should only call me during a certain time. and he decided to call me right away to which the time i stated i was busy. I wanted to cuss him off right from the start of the call. anyways he kept hassling me on the phone, so i just turned the deal off. definitely a hard user to deal with, doesnt understand either english, common sense, dealing respect, or all three. |
