Default Doom 3 for Xbox

Now this is a sweet game. Granted I have never played the PC version but I can't imagine it being any better. The only thing is I can't believe how terrible I am at games nowadays. Back in the day I could blow through Secret Agent or Wizardry or The Bards Tale on my Apple IIe in a couple of sittings. Are games much more complicated these days or am I just out of touch? I would be interested to hear other people's thoughts on the Xbox version of Doom 3 especially if you have played the PC version and can compare them. Also, I think the new Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is out next week too. That looks to be an amazing game. Although I am sure I will suck at it like every other game.

Damn, why didn't we get a Collector's Edition on the PC? I wouldn't mind getting Ultimate Doom/Doom 2 and all the other bonus features with my purchase...

Games are more complicated these days. The only time I found games to be complicated back then was because you couldn't save like you can now.

I've heard many people say that they got a better experience playing Doom 3 than Halo 2.

Sounds like they cut a lot of textures for the Xbox game.

Compared to the PC version, for sure. But look at the specs (and therefore the cost) needed to run it on a PC

I thought this game was coming out Monday... I guess you managed to "borrow" a copy prior to its release

I remember Doom II in high school (I guess that dates me a bit!!).. It was awesome playing deathmatch!

The game is amazing. I'm not so much worried about a few missing textures. I still suck at it though!
