Question Does anyone own MBT shoes or know someone who does?

The concept of these shoes is so great, but I'm just not sure if they really do what they say they do. I tried them on a few days ago, but I can't decide if I should spend the $350.00. Do any of you know someone who uses them who says they are worth it?

If you want to gain height, sure, but dont expect it will reduce cellulite.

Info from 20/20.

Default Masai shoes

I thought I would revive this because they now have a Canadian site and I am wondering if anyone has since purchased these from one of the Canadian retailers?

http://www.swissmasai.ca

The reviews on Epinions and Amazon seem to show that these are a pretty amazing buy despite their $300+ price tag. Especially in the area of improved posture, reduced back and joint pain and better workouts from walks.

Any feedback from anyone here?

Alright, I decided to buy them. I just went for a 30 min walk in them, and it seems like it works out your whole body. It's quite neat, my whole body feels like it's been worked out and stretched. I feel like I just went snowboarding for an hour.

I'm very interested to see how over time it straightens your posture... This is what it claims. I haven't noticed anything yet on that front though.

My GF has knee problems that have been acting up recently, and these ALREADY seemed to have helped!

I thought these shoes might be another marketing gimmick, but I'm happy so far.

i've read mixed reviews on those shoes. some love it and (like your gf) have had a positive impact in their posture and gait. others just can't get used to the sole. glad to hear it worked out for you guys...i'll probably get a pair of mephistos. i had a pair of finn comfort and while they weren't bad, they look pretty horrible lol.

I've got a friend who is a podiatrist and she says they are a gimmick and the shoes will do nothing for you. Apparently alot of her colleagues also are saying the exact samething.

Like I said, my GF noticed improvement on her knee right away - so it's a gimmick that will do fine for her.

The guy who owns the office beside me has a delivery company and is always on his feet... He pulled something in his leg two days ago and has been limping since... He is a size 12 also, he tried my shoes on for 10 mins and he's off to buy a pair of his own tomorrow now.

In terms of the increased muscle use in your legs - try it on for a min or two and there is no denying that.

I think I would buy a pair off eBay to try out (and save $$$).

Probably just the placebo effect. At $350 you probably want your new shoes to be more than just a marketing gimmick pretty badly.

I'd rather spend the money on a good pair of custom orthotics. Not only can you interchange them between different pairs of shoes, they'll probably last longer than these after they start wearing out.

The only problem with that is that Orthodics and MBTs do the opposite thing.
Orthodics are supposed to promote stability in the foot while MBTs promote instability making you use all of your leg muscles to balance out.

I am also looking into getting a pair too but am hesitant to pull the trigger.
