I've got a 20" widescreen LCD from Dell days connected by DVI cable to ATI 8500 video card.
When I reset my machine I am not getting any BIOS messages. I can't even go into BIOS menu. Is it normal? Can it be changed? Thanks in advance! |

9700 Pro, 6600GT and 8500DV connected via DVI and they all display the BIOS info. Perhaps yours takes too long to turn on/warm up by the time the display is showing it's already the windows boot screen?

I did have a problem with my 8500 and games. When I ran games (desktop environment worked fine), the screen would flicker black and back to the correct picture. It must have been the DVI port on my card because my 6600gt displays perfect picture.
There has been reports of the monitor having really tight tolerances on the DVI signal coming in. If the signal is not good, then the monitor will reject the DVI signal and go black. Maybe you are having similar problems? |

Thanks for the info.
I just found this link and it seems to explain the problem - http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...hilite=2005fpw |
