I'm looking for the best prices online, ideally in Canada. I've found Henry's and Futureshop, but they are pricey.
Is there anything else you guys recommend? |

buying digital cameras is a risky project to undertake... unlike still cameras, the technology is constantly changing in ways that make your old stuff obsolete. I still use my pentax k1000 from the 70s... and its lovely. However, the digital camera my cousin got in 97 is trash now.

Yes, technology is speeding ahead, but if you just want a camera for casual use (sending pictures to Grandma through email) you can get one fairly cheap.
I bought a 1.3 megapixel Fuiji MX1200 for about 跾 a year ago. It's a fun toy and if that's all you're looking for its fine. |

It's hard to say, there isn't one place that offers definitely lower prices on digital cameras. If you give us more details like how much you're looking to spend, how many MegaPixel resolution your looking for, etc. it'd be easier for us to help you find a deal.

I'm looking for high-end cameras such as the Olympus E-10 (4 Mpixels) and other semi-professional models.
I also found some of the best prices in eBay, but it's so hard to trust some vendors, especially since digital cameras easily enter the gray market. Any online canadian shops links would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Are you a professional photographer? Coz buy a high-end digital camera right now is not exactly "good value". In a month or two, your super high-end will be replaced with newer models and the price will drop by over 50%. Just like buying a P4- 1.7Ghz now.
Unless you really have to buy a 4 Mpixels for work purpose, and you have lots of money, (If you have money, what are you doing here??? ;)) There is no point in buying a high end camera with 4 Mpixels. Personally I think any 1-2 Mpixel ranging from 跌 - 躔 is definitely good enough if you just want it for normal viewing and printing. |

Futureshop HP 316 just dropped its price to 600.00. If you know someone at university you can get it 20.00 cheaper. Hp will also send you an additional 32 MB flash card free. With the two cards you should be able to take more than a 100 pics before you have to download. The camera's is made by Pentax and the reviews on this camera have been excellent.

Universities and tech schools get a discount from the manufactorer. That's why with a valid student ID you can purchase through Educational Institutions cheaper than on the street.
32 MB flash card is offered by hp directly (coupon offer) and it's free it you buy before July 31. |

University of Calgary (micro store offers this digital camera for 579.99). You can purchase the camera with a valid student ID and mail in the CF (print it out at hp's website. I'm pretty sure most educational institutions have stores like this and if Futureshop has a sale you should be able to get it cheaper that the university's bookstore.
Very nice camera. Should please almost anyone looking for a quality name brand digital camera. |
