The Canon SD500 for $399 is a great deal. Although it's a slightly older model, the only major difference between this and the newer SD550 ($550) is the screen size (2" vs 2.5"). Picture quality will be identical (same lens, CCD).

Those I have seen:

Nikon D50 849$ after "150$ rebate". Crappy. You can get this price anytime in any store. Do a search on the forum, you will find it at 799$ !!

Canon Powershot Pro1 649$ after "250 rebate". This is a 1 year old model that should be replaced soon. Overpriced camera that should be cheaper than that. It's warm at best.

Sony DSC-H1 for 499$ after "150$ rebate". This camera can be found anytime for 529$. So it's more a 30$ rebate. Warm if you can save one tax, else order from an online store.

I dont know for others, I'm shopping for 500-1000$ camera.

I bought a casio QV-R40 2 yrs ago, it's average... the lens is acting funny now... too bad I didn't get the extended warranty... but I've heard that Exilim line is better now... I'm might get this one for my gf for her birthday... deals seem pretty decent... it would be nice if it's a Z750 (reg. $499 at FS)...

I've been looking for a good deal on Canon Rebel XT or the Fuji S5200 for quite some time now. Any idea if FS or BB would offer a good package?

So far the best deals for Canon XT was $985 at Black's and Fuji S5200 for $399 (expired promo last week from Dell).

I'm looking for a digital camera with printer bundle.

My main criteria is ease of use.

Any experience with any bundles and/or seen deals out there?

I've been looking at the Nikon Coolpix 7600. Price in every store seems to be $359-$369.

I did a search of the big camera discounters in New York and $275 USD seems to be the going rate.

Difference on the dollar is 18% - which makes the Canadian equivalent $325.

So I figure that I have some lattitude to bargain.

Comments?

If you're trying to argue a price down because it's sold cheaper in a major market like New York(where they can get major volume discounts) then good luck.

It's a 5 megapixel camera versus the SD500's 7 megapixels, but that won't make a difference if you won't blow your pictures up past about a 10x12. The two cameras are targeted at different users though, the A610 is more along the lines of Canon's A85/95 series (it's actually a little bit bigger than one of those) whereas the SD500 is much smaller and lighter (and it's metal )
