Default Dangerous Eye Degree?

Just came back from the eye exam doctors and wondering if i've just screwed myself over? i have a eye degree of 850 on my right eye and 725 on my left FOR A 14 YEAR OLD i increased 125 for my right eye and 75 for my left. Give it to me straight am i screwed for life? or in danger of being blind very soon? i've packed up all my games and everything except for my computer ( ready to change my ways), i just don't understand how other people can go on the computer the entire day and still have perfect eye's

Can anyone share they're thoughts?

Well if it gets worst, i'm sure there's laser eye surgery that can be done. Mines way more worst so don't worry to much.

Genetics

From what I understand, puberty can also be a very tough age for eyesight as you grow but don't necessarily maintain the correct eyeball shape for things to remain in focus.

After puberty, things should slow down.

Crap, at this rate, you be legally blind in several years. You should start learning braille.

It is mostly genetic. Your doctor should have told you if the bad eye sight was caused by bad eye heath or the shape of the eye. Most likely latter.

When you say "increased 125 for my right eye and 75 for my left"? When was the last time you did the eye exam? My daughter was worse than you when she was younger than you and she increased 100 in 8 months.

Your games and computer aren't the cause of your degree changes. As everyone above has said, it's genetics. Your prescription will continue to vary until you stop growing.

Yep, it's true. My friend has spent nearly 10 hours each day since he was 12 on a computer. To this day, he has 20/20 vision. He showed me his test results to prove it.

So I guess those theories about masturbation and going blind must be true.

Calm down, you're fine.

When you make some money later on, don't go for LASIK. Go for the ICL (Implantable Contact Lens). You'll be AMAZED at the clarity and sharpness of your vision 1 day post-op! Totally worth the cost.

I work with this surgeon in the Philadelphia area and the results are amazing. Check out his corneal transplants, he's amazing.

Do you have an older pair of glasses from 2 years ago? Use them while at home for reading or watching tv, not for driving or going outside your home for safety reasons.

The trick is that your eyes are forced to focus at a different focal point, and that forces the eye muscles to relax and tighten differently than before. You also are not supposed to purposely strain your eyes while reading as that can hurt your eyes.

I know this sounds like voodoo, but there is growing school of thought on how glasses dependency actually worsens your eyesight over time. From personal experience I was able to halt my deterioration after doing this for just 2 months. Whereas my eyesight would get worse by .25 each and every year, after using an old pair of glasses it never got worse again.

In some very rare cases, a few were able to totally remove the need for glasses, although you shouldnt expect this. The best you can do is improve it by a tiny bit, or just halt the deterioration while you're still under 20.

Good luck. You cant say you werent told of this method, and you never know until you try.

I went without glasses for 2 years back in high school, and my vision improved a lot. When I wear them now I sometimes get the feeling I'm staring out of a window in front of my face, and my vision without them is pretty bad. My cousin has noticed the same thing, his natural vision has gotten worse over time as he's worn his glasses. That ICL thing looks unbelievable.
