Default Is the Crystal Xbox more powerful?

The rumor mill told me that the new XBOX crystal was supposed to be more powerful, ie a faster CPU or GPU than the current crop of XBOXs.

The was immediately skeptical of this, as there are issues getting a modded xbox online, including the ones you can get with upgraded cpus...

Any word on this?

Thinking about finally getting one to use all my microsoft training games...

I haven't heard of this. Wouldn't games run into some timing issues if they change the CPU? It would be great for emulators though, that's for sure.

No, the hardware speed is the same. Just a different case. There have been several revisions to the Xbox hardware over the years to reduce costs but the speed has always stayed the same and the amount of RAM is also the same.

It's not, just a Limited Edition case for the Europeans. Just like the Translucent Green "Halo edition" isn't any better than the stock Xbox.... unless you really like Halo or the colour green.
