How many contests do you guys enter? I enter quite a few per week but I've never won anything. The last thing I remember winning is a Star Wars action figure like 4 years ago, which is probably like the most expensive thing I've ever won. Kind of sad really.

I think the thing thats crazy when some people win contests and have stories done on them or asked they are usally contests you can enter more then once and or are contests that in one way or another have employed some sorta shortcut. While I enter more them most my friends and family I do not enter everything I see. Also you got to keep in mind the types of contests most people enter and how they enter. I would think most are give general info like name and contact info, some sort of trivia or answer some skill testing question and method of entry sending or submiting your name, contact info or dropping off a ballot. Lastly the value of the prize won. I myself in the five years have averaged between 10 to 30 wins with a total for most years being between $500 to $3000. Now sure the bulk of the things have been cds, passes, gift certifcates but there also has been exclusive invites, trips, hotel stays, etc.

Slow year so far for me, I've won:
World Trade Center DVD Alliance Atlantis DVD Pack Just as my sig says. Nothing too great yet this year, I'm hoping pepsi has a good contest again this year so I can go 3/3 (I didn't get in on the Ipods they had the first year, but I did win 2 xbox 360s the 2 years after.) I enter just about everything I see minus the ones I don't really have a use for the prize (baby stuff are the ones I usually skip). I have about 20-30 daily entries at any given time. I probably enter 50 or so different contests every week.

I'm a little picky about the contests I enter. Unlimited-entry contests I avoid because I don't have the time to keep clicking and typing. Single-entry contests to win one grand prize have really low odds, especially if they're for U.S. and Canada. Also, if it requires membership and the site looks sketchy, I won't enter.
I prefer daily contests where I can use Firefox's saved form info to enter quickly. Also, the more prizes the better. I won a trip to Toronto in March, and also a Dell Axim PDA in February. Haven't won much lately though... maybe they have blacklists? ![]() My sig contains all my wins for 2007. As you can tell, I listen to the radio a lot.

Just got the forms for a win in the Microsoft/AMD Vanishing Point contest - the one where you could win a trip into space.
I didn't win the trip into space. I got third prize which is either a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate or a copy of Microsoft Office Ultimate. Pity my computer can't handle them... Oh well - not bad for a contest that was open to Canada, US, Australia, Germany, UK, France, Italy, Spain and a bunch of other countries too. I didn't complete all the puzzles either - only about 20 of them so I really can't complain. |

I now enter about 2 dozen daily contests, and every single entry contest I can find

I've been at this more or less steadily for almost two years now. I don't put in a crazy amount of time -- let's say half an hour per day, on average. To date, I've won:
And that's it. Maybe $500 worth of stuff. I've had more luck with actual freebies. Last edited by SCRawl; May 11th, 2007 at 10:57 PM.. Reason: Added a contest win |

I've started seriously entering contests in November last year. So far have won only some whey powder (which I don't use).
Before I used to enter only ocasionally. I would enter Now and eye contests weekly and I won a few CDs, quite a few movie passes. Anyway, I must admit that I haven't won anything exciting so far. I enter most of the contests I find on the websites like this one (and contestcanada.net). I don't mind entering daily contests, but I enter only once. I figure the odds are ok even for those. Biggest thing I've won so far must be jacket. I've also won some books, comics and a modem (when they were expensive) |
