First of all, I'm assuming that you are fine flying into any airport in London, and it doesn't have to be Heathrow. (London has 5 airports in case you weren't aware. Although most overseas flights from North American land in either Heathrow or Gatwick).
You also didn't make it clear if you want to leave Toronto on the 12th or 13th, or whether you need to land in London on those dates. (Most flights from Toronto to London arrive the day after you leave). I'll assume you want to leave Toronto on those dates. Anyway, enough assumptions. ![]() Air India has a one way flight leaving Toronto on the 12th for $443, all taxes and fees included. Air Transat has a one way flight leaving Toronto (to Gatwick) on the 13th for $460, all taxes and fees included. (Air Transat may have a lower luggage allowance than other airlines, if this is important.) Air India has a return from Toronto to London, from Sept. 12 to Dec. 15 or 16, for $800, all taxes and fees included. And Air India also has a return from London to Toronto, Dec. 15 to Jan. 2 or 3 for between $780 and $810, all taxes and fees included. A one way ticket around New Year's is currently expensive (around $650-700). I don't know if it will stay that way or not. So it may make sense to buy a one way ticket for September, and then get a return ticket for the Christmas holidays if you can settle on the dates. |

Just as a sidenote, if you're willing to fly from Hamilton airport to London Gatwick, then Globespan has a flight that will cost $353 all in, departing September 13th. You can verify at their website.

is your school near reading? i guess heathrow would be the closest, but don't count out gatwick completely. there are a ton of trains that may just add on one or two hours to your commute but you may save loads of money. try National Rail for the trains and check your dates on the Canadian Affair website. they use charters like thomas cook and air transat but are sometimes cheaper.
