Default CBC HD Hockey Varies By Region?

I just wanted to get some input on this as this seems to have happened for the last several weeks. The CBC HD states that the torronto game is on when in fact it is the Ottawa game.

Two weeks ago Ottawa vs NJ was on instead of Toronto vs Boston(?). I assumed CBC was simply option for the better matchup, though NJ really sucks this year.

This past Saturday Toronto was playing Montreal, and Ottawa Boston, so I figured of course the Toronto Montreal game would be on, they would be crazy not to put it on, but it was the Ottawa Boston game.

The only thing I can figure is that CBC is regionally altering the HD feed to broadcast the local team in HD, I know this is possible as I used to program equipment for some US counterparts to do this very same thing. If this wasn't the case I would think I'd see some major outrage from Toronto fans coming over the pipes.

Just wanted to get some input from people in various regions. Have Toronto folk been getting their HD Hockey Night in Canada for the leafs. Have others in Ottawa on networks other than Rogers been receiving Sens games? How about you folk in Kingston, what team is being broadcast to you?

Or am I dead wrong and they've just been playing the Ottawa games?

it was kind of mentioned in the sens thread - i think this is rogers only, for now...unless u are on BEV?

they should have an alternate HD feed, but for now it looks like rogers is showing the local game on the HD channel, which is great go sens!!!

I think Scott Morrison (head of CBC sports) said that HNIC this year would feature less Leaf games nationwide, and more games from other Canadian teams. That said, I went to Ottawa in March and on that weekend, they showed the Ottawa game over the Toronto game. Had to walk around to find a bar that showed the Toronto game...which sucked lol

Hockey Night in Canada has been regional for quite awhile (years). Since you're in Ottawa, your area tries to carry the Senator games whenever it can, while the majority of Canada gets the national feed.

During the broadcast, when they say what games are coming up on HNIC next week, I've heard them announcing the regional games.
