Default Canadian tire & Simoniz, what a load of #@#$

Ok, i am really pissed off.

Last August/September I bough a Simoniz power washer for around the 250 bucks on sale. Right out of the box i have had problems with the soap not working, canadian tire would NOT Return it to there store at all, and Simonize was less then helpfull, thus the soap never really worked...

Yesterday I took it out for the first time, turned it on and now it wont even pressurize. This thig has been used maybe 12 times, and is also leaking like a siv....... I went to Canadian tire yesterday, the CS told me that they cannot return it, that they have signs all over the powerwashers saying to call the hotline first, I told them how useless simoniz's cs was and then he started saying that they have lots of them being attempted to return, and that they have cheap mechanisims inside them and although simonize says nothing is wrong, they know there is something with them but their hands are tied, he suggested i take it accross the streeet and pay for a repair from a private repair place.

So I wentback on the phone, was on with simonize for 40 minutes *last 30 was on hold) so i hung up and called back into the system, and was told that i want an exchangem no more BS and they said someone will call later this week... I highly doubt it since they seem extremmly inept. I have tried ever single trouble shouting, this thing is obviously a lemon, and Canadian tire knows it, why they hell wont they stand by the product or stop selling them and ripping peeople off

If you bought it with Mastercard/ Visa, you could probably get them to intervene.

U could also write to a newspaper.
Or to the President of Canadian Tire.

Try getting the Canadian Tire corporate email list then send an email blast.

I'm one of those guys that will spend a few extra bucks to buy from CT before another store, but as soon as I saw these signs up I shook my head.

Basically it said to me "well folks we are sorry but we entered a ****** contract and now we have to sell these crappy things for a few years"

I don't think it CTs fault, they warn people, simoniz should be a heads up company and deal with these things quickly.

I like the idea of buying Karcher too

I have a problem with a car wax company suddenly selling pressure washers.
I wouldn't buy a Tommy Hilfiger pressure washer either.
You probably should have bought a Karcher or a Husky.

Half the time the problem is with the users breaking the Simoniz while putting it together/using it, which is why they don't want to take them back.

OMG I have the same problem as you! My parents bought the 1750 last yr (or 1600) anyways, Simnoz also has the SHITTIEST website! It doesn't even look like a real company manufacturer. Also, the hotline we are told to call, is NOT AFFILIATE with simoniz. Its like a speical hotline for canadian tire customers who get ****ed over.

I called them as well, and someone was supposed to call me back. A "pressure washer engineer" LOL I was like wtf?? Anyways, the person never called me back. I bought mine last year as well.

Well the problem with mine, is its a *****!!!!!!!!!!!!! to take the "rod" thingie off. Its SO UNBELIVEABLY HARD! The other thing that ****ed up now, is it DOES NOT turn off when on high pressure when you let go of the handle! WTF IS THAT? So i can squeeze it on, but once the high pressure is going it can't turn off?! I have to switch it from high pressure to low pressure which sucks cuz the handle is so long and its hard as a rock too.

Also, when you press "ON" on your simoniz washer, your motor is supposed to stay on right? I'm not sure about this, tell me what happens to yours. but whenever I squeeze mine on low power, motor turns on, sprays, than motor turns off. I thought it was suppoed to stay on as soon as u press "ON"?

Maybe I should write a letter to Canadian Tire president, anyone have his e-mail?

MLC2000 did mention about the mastercard/visa. Hmm.......i should look into that. Do you know what I would do?

Like its not a chargeback is it? I think they have 1 yr warranty by Simoniz, but you have to ship the ****ing thing to the States. The thing weighs like 20lbs. and is the size of a friggin 7 yr old.

One of my friends who use to work at Crappy tire told me that Electric Pressure washer are no good. You have to buy GAS. Also Crappy Tire will not allow you to bring back the unit once water goes through it. The best place to buy any Pressure washer is Home Depot just because you can return it with out issues. I currently own a 2500PSI GAS Pressure washer from home depot and so far I have had No problems with it

Send Simonizz a link to this thread, I will never buy a Simoniz now and I am in the market. Also I will tell 10 friends as well that Simoniz is complete ****. Multiply 10 by the amount of views and Simoniz can kiss your ass.

Nightgod, for most household applications an electric pressure washer is fine. That said, the Simonize models aren't worth a penny IMO. We have an electric Karcher that is now about 7 years old. It has seen some heavy use and is still going strong. Not only has it been used to wash farm machinery, it's also been used to wash out cow stalls and wash cattle. At this house we use it 3 times a year to wash the whole house down. We have also used it to remove stain from over 100 feet of fence and wash decks down.

In general I've found CT's Customer Service to be great. They returned a small pressure washer that broke with no questions asked. (maybe because they knew it was garbage to begin with - $69 pressure washer...)

CT up in Newmarket wasn't so good tho.

CT is still trying to unload their Simoniz crap at every sale they have.
A friend of mine had the same issue and could get Simoniz cs nor his CT store to help.
He wrote to CT's head office, which in turn called the store and ordered them to exchange the item.

Edit: Item exchanged, not refunded.
